Stepping back in time…

Standard

What a wonderful project for the children in our village! Well done to all who organised especially Gwen.

Cilcain Village Hall /Neuadd y Pentre Cilcain

Many thanks to Gwen Hardman from Cilcain WI for the following!

Children from Ysgol y Foel and Cilcain WI members have joined forces to uncover sleeping information about Cilcain’s past – and what a stash of information we found at Flintshire Record Office on our visit!

Fascinating maps and documents were ready and waiting for us – followed by a tour of the archive rooms and the conservator’s den. Many thanks to staff at the Record Office for looking after us so well. Budding historians, archivists and photographers in the making, maybe?

More Cruise Crafts

Standard

IMG_1120 I’m still busy putting together my next craft cruise projects. This clock is just one craft that I’ve been working on. I’m not certain if it will make it to the final suitcase as I have really struggled with the clock mechanism. I suspect it’s a case of buy cheap get rubbish so I will need to review what to do. This is something that I embroidered but I did plan for my class members to up cycle vintage linens. As I have already bought thirty embroidery hoops I may need some inspiration as to how to use them! I will let you know how it goes. By the way has anyone got any good project ideas using thirty embroidery hoops?

Playing with Notions

Standard

Spent today sorting out yet more cruising craft projects. I’ve got a few packed and ready to go but need to organise two or three more.

As always I got side tracked away from the task in hand and played with kilt pins and Textile scraps. I’m not sure if this item will make it onto the cruise craft list but I enjoyed the making process.

Always Busy!

Standard

As I mentioned in my previous post I have been very busy crafting, thinking about crafting and buying crafting items. This is because I am off on another crafty cruise in July. It’s not an exotic destination but very exciting. I am going from Liverpool, up the West coast of Scotland into the sea Lochs and round the top of Scotland to Orkney. This is very interesting and an adventure to look forward to. Because we want to do another road trip in Damnvan1 before I go I need to leave all the craft projects sorted and packed. Phew!

And there’s always Benji dog to walk.

20170509_145956Last night I was invited to my local WI who were having a craft taster evening, to demonstrate decoupage.

I demonstrated how to decoupage a photo frame . I chose to use a map of Scotland and a photograph of a Scottish mountain. This is just one of the projects that I will be demonstrating on my future Scottish cruise.

I’m Sorry!

Standard

I’m  so sorry not to have found the time to blog for a few weeks but I have been soooo busy. A poor excuse I know!

We have been on a road trip in Damnvan1 to the Lake District, Cumbria. It was cold, sunny, windy, clear, crisp and fun. We walked, talked, drank wine, ate too much and had fun! We struggled to take down our pop up tent ( Where Benji dog sleeps) and I’m sorry I didn’t film our hilarious efforts for YouTube. We travelled to the Yorkshire Dales which were awash with Bluebells, we had picnics, and scoured charity shops, we watched old DVDs and had fun.
