Meet my new toy!

At last! Finished! Looks great! And it works!

At last my craft room is finished! Painting done, desk delivered, chair assembled and finally the cause of all this trouble, the sewing machine is unpacked.

I’ve sorted out most of my craft books and displayed them in the room. There are a few more to sort through but you get the idea? It’s lovely having them in the same place and a chance to “remember” the books that I have.

I invested in a lovely oak desk with some storage, which fortunately was delivered ready assembled. The new linen box and swivel chair were a different story. I had to face the IKEA challenge and put them together. This did require a degree of DIY skills and ingenuity. Neither of which I have in abundance.

Best of all is the new sewing machine. You may remember that it was delivered two or three weeks ago. I had only checked that there was actually a sewing machine in the box but hadn’t taken it out. I can now confirm that it works, it’s fab, and I love it! Watch this space for some creativity and sewing.

 

Birthday Girl

Lovely step Grandaughter turned nine this weekend. As a treat we all went out in Damnvan1 for a birthday picnic by the sea. We were very fortunate as the rain stopped and the sun shone as we drove up to the coast. Great fun was had with a birthday banner over the windscreen, balloons and party poppers. We finished our buffet picnic party with chocolate cake sporting nine candles. The grand finale was a Knickerbocker Glory at a local ice cream parlour. Predictably she couldn’t eat much of it but apparently I’m told that a Knickerbocker Glory is compulsory to celebrate turning nine whole years old.

Muddling along on the craft front at the moment as I’ve been trying to finish my new craft room. I’ve never before decorated a whole room on my own but I’m delighted with the results. The desk arrives tomorrow so nearly there.

I will publish a grand reveal when complete, so watch this space!

Seaside Adventure

On our recent trip to Llanbedrog Benji Dog enjoyed lots of adventures and new experiences.

He searched for the sea

But wasn’t sure about the waves.

He looked for boats but they were all beached

He went rock climbing and couldn’t get down!

Oh I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside!

We have just returned from a week at my son’s holiday cottage in Llanbedrog, Wales. We went with family and of course Benji dog.

Gwelfor Holiday Cottage is owned by my eldest son who has worked really hard creating a home from home to let out for short and longer breaks.

The front elevation is having a face lift this week end to brighten it up. Whilst the rear boasts a good size garden with lovely views. Ideal for children and a BBQ!

The house has been furnished in a modern mid century style and boasts one of the best beaches in Wales within a 5 minute walk. Popular Abersoch is a short drive in the other direction with more stunning beaches and trendy shops.

I suspect hope that I will have many more visits to this lovely location.
