A Different Craft Class

Standard

As most of you know I often teach crafts on cruise ships so you won’t be surprised to learn that I’ve been to the craft class on my current holiday. It was really good to see how someone else deals with the craft Classes. Lyn the tutor on this SAGA cruise has a completely different take on the situation. But you can always learn something new. Lyn works in paper craft which is not my first love but I am really enjoying a fresh outlook. I am delighted to make a Christmas Tree from a paper back book! Seasonal, appropriate and fun.

Life at sea with SAGA

Standard

Hi guys life on a cruise ship is never boring. (If it is it’s your fault) !

Today is my first day of my first cruise with SAGA Ok the ship is full of golden oldies but what an enthusiastic lot! I’m not working and I am actually enjoying a holiday with Hubs and have the time to attend other activities!

please note that this is NOT Hubs!

Mr Motivator (AKA Derrick Evans) is a guest speaker on board!

This is a gift for me as I prepare for bilateral hip replacements in a few weeks. Mr Motivator is certainly active, enthusiastic and positive! I’m also able to swim daily, well excercise my legs and hips! Just what the doctor ordered!

Craft Group

Standard

I so enjoy my Monday craft group in our village hall.

This is my current project. It’s destined to be a blanket ( or Afghan) I took it to the group this week to ask advice which was offered in abundance. Along side the advice was good ideas and encouragement…

There are stitchers and…..

Knitters and…..

Weavers and …..

Creators and……

Most importantly friends, yarn swappers and social support.

(This last picture was on Facebook with no accreditation) BUT isn’t it good?!

Cruise Memories

Standard

On my last cruise we made beaded bracelets which I have mentioned before.

To be honest I found them a nightmare to teach but they were popular. We had a safety pin crises where pins were too big or too small. There was a problem with the elastic over stretching but the project was very popular. The thread was almost impossible to knot and pins slipped off the end. But they remained popular. We had “gluegate” when we tried to secure the knots but they were still popular. I must admit to swearing that I’d never do them again no matter how popular.

THEN I met one of the craft guests at the airport going home. She had made ( successfully) two bracelets as Christmas gifts. She and her husband had been for afternoon tea in a smart hotel in CapeTown . There in a glass display cabinet were the very same popular bracelets marked at £20 each!

I guess I will offer these popular bracelets as an option on my next cruise!
