Criccieth Castle (Welsh: Castell Cricieth) is a native Welsh castle situated on the headland between two beaches in Criccieth, Gwynedd, in North Wales, on a rocky peninsula overlooking Tremadog Bay. It was built by Llywelyn the Great of the kingdom of Gwynedd but it was heavily modified following its capture by English forces of Edward I in the late 13th century.

Had a great couple of days attending two workshops at the Gwyl Criccieth Festival. The first was a stitching workshop made even better because my Sis came. We made beautiful lapel pins inspired by Cow Parsley. I took the pink one home to finish ( which, unusually, I did!) Then I made another. I will definitely make more in the future as they are a great small project to take away with me.
Many thanks to Kitty and Flo
As you may know I have been having a craft fest in between looking after Gorgeous Granddaughter. Because she’s been in school I have been crafting all day! Bliss! One of the items that I’ve been working on is the beaded bracelet. I have now perfect how to make it and am delighted with the result.
I use safety pins (at least 50)
Thread beads onto the safety pins and close pin
Thread pins onto beading elastic
Thread elastic through the top and bottom of the pins.
Join elastic so that it is the length of your wrist
Use a wreath knot and dab glue onto the knot to secure
Gorgeous Granddaughter was delighted with the result. This is definitely one Craft that I will be offering on my next crafty cruise.
I’m currently child minding Gorgeous Granddaughter but I’m not very sure whose looking after who! She’s a competent teenager and just needs a responsible adult in the house! Mind you, how did I get the title “competent adult”?
Because I’m here for more than a week I’ve come fully equipped with multiple crafts including my sewing machine. Today I’ve been trying to improve my beading skills. The first challenge of the day was getting the lid off the glue, which I managed with the help of boiling water and brute force. The second challenge of the day will be cooking dinner in a strange kitchen!
I’ll show you the end result when complete.
I have never been interested in beading but recently became hooked. It is a fiddly and often frustrating craft but ultimately rewarding. I started to make a bracelet using safety pins and beads.Every craft you try leads into a whole new World of crafting and beading is no exception. I have bought books, various threads, lots of beads. I’ve watched YouTube and Googled for information. Most importantly I was introduced to the craft after reading blogs on beading.
Here is my first attempt. However if you count the number of times that I dropped the beads or Miss threaded them it’s by no means my first attempt. Hey ho! Practice makes perfect
