I’m so sorry not to have found the time to blog for a few weeks but I have been soooo busy. A poor excuse I know!
We have been on a road trip in Damnvan1 to the Lake District, Cumbria. It was cold, sunny, windy, clear, crisp and fun. We walked, talked, drank wine, ate too much and had fun! We struggled to take down our pop up tent ( Where Benji dog sleeps) and I’m sorry I didn’t film our hilarious efforts for YouTube. We travelled to the Yorkshire Dales which were awash with Bluebells, we had picnics, and scoured charity shops, we watched old DVDs and had fun.
I have also been having much fun crafting! More about that next time!
I wonder if you’ve missed me? Probably not! Who can blame you? I’ve taken a short hiatus from blogging as we are away in Damnvan1 AGAIN. We are in the Lake District AGAIN. It was Hubs birthday so it was his destination choice and, what a surprise, we are at Castlerigg Hall Camp site AGAIN. Not that I’m complaining you understand. I love it here as you might have noticed!
This is the view from my Campervan door. What more could you ask for?
This is the view from my Campervan door!
It would have been rude to refuse. It was Hubs birthday after all.
We have had wonderful weather AGAIN. We have walked and shopped. There are so many “outdoor” shops all selling hiking, camping, climbing, biking and wine. A girl only needs so many pairs of hiking books and “wick away” Tee shirts. However a girl can always use another bottle of wine or maybe more chocolate!
Catch up soon. Cheers!
I had a FANTASTIC weekend! Did you?
I went to the Lake District,Cumbria with four girl friends. We’ve been weekending twice a year for eighteen years as a group. We’ve seen marriages, lovers, losses, divorce, grand children, tears, laughter, chocolate and much wine. I love them all and love our girly weekends.
This time we stayed in Keswick where we shopped in the rain.(always a shopping opportunity!) We walked along the shores of Derwentwater in sunshine and hail! We explored Grasmere discovering William Shakespeare’s grave -you know the guy! The poet of “wondering lonely as a cloud”
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
In my guise as Granny Lush
I took Lush bath bombs for my friends and I to have super relaxing baths after hiking through the woods.
I enjoyed a yellow bath using a bomb called “Honey Bee”. Lush describe it as “sweet, soothing and cleansing” and it certainly was that. Yummmmmm. Such a treat.
This is the first time that I’ve blogged from my phone so please “bear with” as they say. The first noticeable difference is the predictive text so hopefully I won’t make too many mistakes.
Today we are camping on the shores of Derwent Water in The Lakes and it is a beautiful spring day.
We walked along the lake side having taken the launch from Keswick jumped off at Hawes End and walked around to Lodore Falls. A gentle start to a few weeks of walking. Benji really enjoyed it and has a new hobby posing for photos.
I would like to stay at the Lodore Falls hotel for Hubby’s BIG birthday in May but I will need to raid the piggy bank. We will see but I am confident that it could be a surprise as he doesn’t read this blog.
