Well! I’ve done it again! It’s been quite some time but well worth waiting for! I’ve won another competition.
You may remember that a few months ago I was telling you about my hobby of entering Competions. True I had been in a competion desert for some time. Historically I have won some lovely prizes but not recently. Until now!
Last week I had an email to say that I had won a mobile phone. Not only a phone but a virtual reality headset as well. Now some may say that I have enough problems with reality never mind the virtual stuff. To say I am delighted is an understatement.
The prize was from a competition run by the Caravan Club of Great Britain and consisted of writing a caption for their photograph. I entered through Facebook and promptly forgot about it. Until, that is, I received the congratulating email.
The phone is a new edition Android set, easy to set up and off we go. Thank you to The Caravan Club.
Ps I have a theory that I ALWAYS win three prizes at a time so stay in touch to see if if this theory becomes a reality.
Yesterday I told you about one of the competitions that I won quite a few years ago. Well I have won quite a few more but as I said not recently. It is high time that a jumped onto another winning streak!
A prize that I once won included car hire for two weeks and the ferry crossing for a car and family to France. Whoo Hoo! We hired accommodation in Normandy and spent the two weeks exploring the Normandy Landings Beaches from World War Two. Not as grim as it sounds as the boys were very young. We all enjoyed the holiday beaches and exploring the multitude of mini war museums. Fascinating for 10 and 7 year old boys. We picnicked on Omaha and Gold Beaches and played cricket in the sun.
The car was a new Ford Sierra in bright red – very trendy in the 1980s and I remembered, most of the time, to drive on the right hand side of the road instead of the left.
I have also won multiple shop vouchers, Cookery books, a television and toasters. Oh the toasters! I won an electric toaster, very nice I might add. The next day another toaster arrived and the day after another! I rang the company as a fourth arrived and they said not to worry and don’t bother returning them!! I gave toasters as many charity raffle prizes that year.
Competions have changed so much. I used to always post them, then the telephone became the main entry route. Now most are done via the Internet. Not quite as much fun as wishing a postcard good luck as you drop it into the postbox. But someone will win and it could be me!
So I will send out good vibes and hope to win something exciting soon!!
Those of you who know me may be aware that I am a competion fan. The number of competitions that I enter varies widely but over the years I have won a few times. Admittedly I have been going through something of a barren time in recent years, but I am currently going for a big push. You know what? I might just win!
When one of my children was a baby I won “everything that you need for a first birthday party”. There was a big wicker hamper containing lots of goodies including birthday cake, balloons, champagne ( presumably for the adults) and loads more. I still have the hamper which is the home for a family of soft toys.
This particular prize also included a years supply of disposable nappies. This prize came when disposable nappies were just becoming popular and I had already bought terry nappies. I was told to expect a nappy delivery. Sometime later a delivery man arrived at my door carrying a large box of Pampers nappies. I thanked him and he put it in my hall. As I closed the door he asked me to hang on as there was more! The man just kept on coming with box after box.
I had hundreds of nappies. I stored them under beds, on top of wardrobes, in the garage. I gave packs to all friends with babies and still I had disposable nappies. My baby was toilet trained long before we ran out of nappies. What a prize! Thank you Pampers!
Yippee! I’ve won again! For the third weekend in a row I have won money, whoo hoo 💃 This week I won second place in the local pub’s sweep on the Grand National. The princely sum of £20 was handed over on Saturday evening. Mind you, by the time I had bought a round of drinks and a couple of extra glasses of wine to celebrate there wasn’t a lot of change! Still the joy of winning (again) was great.
The pictures today are of a blouse that I have just altered. I liked the colour, fabric and size but the elasticated bottom was not good. I felt too round when wearing it so I chopped off the elastic and hemmed the raw edge. Job done! I now feel better in it and if you feel better you look better.
On my girly weekend away we purchased a lottery ticket and we WON! Amazing ! There were loud whoops of joy and extra sparkling wine to celebrate. We won the grand total of £168 between five of us. This was wisely re invested into our holiday account to help fund our next trip away. This is my second lucky win in two weeks so I am patiently waiting to report the third. My luck ALWAYS comes in threes! The Airstream caravan has been added to my “when I win the lottery” Pinterest board. I love Pinterest but haven’t yet worked out how to add the button to this blog
It wasn’t a crafty weekend but I did knit a few hexipuffs! So all was not lost! It’s almost impossible to trawl craft venues with a group of girls so I am saving that treat for when I’m on my own.
Blog that I Enjoy
