Today’s craft class on board the SAGA Sapphire was a paper Christmas wreath. A nice project which was just challenging enough for someone who doesn’t really like paper crafts!
Quite a busy day on board today with lots going on to choose from. I started with an excercise class with Mr Motivator, Craft class, swim in the indoor pool and some fizz to drink pre dinner.I also managed to fit in a classical concert and a football match on TV! Phew! I need to go home for a rest!
Phew! A sail away from Lanzarote with a difference. Accompanied by Mr Motivator Aka Derrick Evans I 90’s music and rum punch (rumish!) We glided out of the harbour whilst exercising and trying to use up some calories. Fun, energy and laughter and then it rained. The cool down was rapid!
I must point out that I’d been swimming prior to this class! I’ve twelve days to go before I have bi lateral hip replacements so I will be as fit as possible. Shame about the food………!
No real crafting today just a big sort ready for our class tomorrow! A beautiful HOT day here in Las Palmas
The “problem” with cruising is that the ship invariably docks in an unattractive busy port. The nature of the beast I suppose! Usually the initial first impression is replaced by holiday happiness and enthusiasm for the resort.
I am enjoying a good swim each day which seems to be helping my hip problem. I’m working on the principle that they use water therapy for race horses with leg problems Bring on the Race Horse exercise programme!
I suspected that there might be a problem when I threw out
all most of my clothes! Now I’ve nothing to wear! Surprise! I reckon it’s a reaction to loosing Mum, well I have to blame someone. I needed to cheer myself up so I’ve booked a party for my birthday in a few weeks. I just wanted a happy party! Now I haven’t anything to wear so I’ve temporarily cheered myself up with a new hair cut, manicure and new lipstick. Oh and I’ve booked a holiday next week with a friend. I’ve still nothing to wear so next week may or indeed will, include a large dose of retail therapy. Sounds like good therapy to me!
I forgot to mention that I have also joined a gym, I love swimming. I’ve bought a new Fit bit and I’m going to the Arctic Circle in January. How mad is that? Life is an adventure.
Remember “Adventure before Dementure”
We have finally put Damnvan to bed after spending seventy nights away this Summer. It has been so good.
We visited Devon and Cornwall
There was a trip to Scaborough Sea Life centre with Gorgeous Grand daughter
There was a break with Darling Daughter and Grandson to the Isle of Anglesey
We walked up mountains
And along coasts
We flew kites and paddled in the sea. There was the Lovely Lake District, interesting Buxton and fabulous Yarndale. All in all a great summer. As the nights get longer and the days colder we tuck Damnvan up for the Winter and make plans for next year. Let’s hope that we can beat the seventy night record!
Where else in the World would you get a coffee, partway up a mountain, with such amazing views? Today is day two of our trip to Mayrhofen, Austria. We have been many times (aren’t we lucky?) and are always jaw droppingly impressed with the beautiful views.
The purpose of our trip is to walk a lot, get fit and drink whisky. Mmmmm not sure…..
This is is a picture of Hubs looking for our lost path. Now this is not unusual we frequently lose our way.
Today was sooooo hot that we did a small walk up hill of course, got lost of course and stumbled across the cafe pictured above. It would have been very rude not to have Apple Strudel with cream and tea. Did anyone mention getting fit?
On our crawl up through the town in extreme heat I did notice a couple of craft shops. These will require investigation within the next few days so I will report back.
We returned to our hotel to have a swim ( Hubs to lift weights) so I decided to lie on the bed and relax. After all I am on holiday not a fitness break and it is hot and the strudel finished me off!
Grandaughter by an intriguing carved tree trunk in the grounds of Plassey Coffee Shop
This week-end I decided to take Damnvan1 away for an “airing”. I’ve missed being away a with her and didn’t want her to feel neglected and get a flat battery. As it was something of a special weekend, because my Grandaughter was visiting AND it’s her birthday this week, I decided to take Grandaughter away for a mini break.
We went to a caravan park called Plassey Leisure Park which was perfect for the occasion. Not too far away, children orientated and somewhere close by to eat out. We also went swimming in the (indoor!) pool which was great fun. I had an all time first for me. We sat in bed,in our sleeping bags, eating crisps and breakfast, watching a Disney DVD all Sunday morning. Fab! Children sure know how to enjoy themselves.
Damnvan1 was very well behaved as was Grandaughter. All three of us had a good time and enjoyed some Girly bonding. The weather was lovely, the location great and the break just right.
