Dear blogging friends I am so sorry that I have been bloggless these last couple of weeks. Life has been difficult as I sit with my Mum during her last days. Its been a good time to remember and reminisce with my sister. Also an opportunity to reflect and plan (I’m a great planner).Mum is still with us but only in body. We try to rejoice in the fantastic life that she has had and laugh at the good memories that we have of her.
was is a Leo star sign and has always loved cuddly toys. Leo the Lion above has watched over her and been cuddled by her these long last few months.
The quilted cushion behind Leo is one that I made whilst on a cruise a few years ago. I have lost my crafty mojo at the moment but I am sure that I will find it again soon.
So, for now dear blogging friends I will not say good bye but au revoir. See you soon.
I am putting together a scrap book of many of the things that I have made in the past. Sadly I don’t have photos of a lot of the items as they were frequently made as gifts, worn out or just out of fashion and charity shopped! I love taking the pictures or trawling through old pics to seek out the more vintage items that appear in old photos! I LOVE the memories that come flooding back. I also LOVE the scrap book as it gets filled up.
I LOVE my Sharpie pens. They are the most versatile, colourful and useful coloured pens e v e r ! Almost every craft project requires stationery! I need “post its” for note taking ideas, page markers, note books, pencils and files, not to mention coloured paper, albums, and of course more pens. Oh don’t forget files, boxes, scissors, paints, and always more pens.
I have crafted for ever! I love to knit, stitch, sew, quilt, re-purpose, crochet. I love to read about crafts, plan to craft and write about crafts! As a child I knit and sewed doll house curtains. As I teenager I made my own clothes and seat covers for the family camper. As a young woman I dress made and knit for my children. As a mature woman I now attempt a multitude of crafts!
I love to blog! Blogging is a great log of all my crafting projects, both current and past. Blogging is also a log of all my vintage finds and some of my belongings. Blogging is a great way to chat to like minded people. I don’t look for monetary reward for my blogging (although it would be good if I knew how!) I just love to blog.
Our girly week end was a great sucess as expected! Having been away twice a year for sixteen years we have a formula that we know works.
I) We select reasonably high end self catering accommodation.
2) We each have our own tasks eg who drives, who shops for food, who cooks etc and it suits us!
3) We know each personality, likes and dislikes.
4) We plan menus and walks with great precision in advance.
5) We always have a great time!
As I blogged about in my previous blog titled “memories” I had sorted out dozens of photographs from our previous trips away. I took these in a tin and we spent a happy few hours sorting through them. We worked out the locations and approximate dates. We laughed at what we were wearing and marvelled at our dated hair styles. We remembered some restaurants, swimming pools and appalling weather. We discussed changes in ourselves and were amazed at the passage of time.
I purchased a photograph album and spent another couple of hours fixing the pictures into the book. I did manage to label most of them as to where and when, but am sceptical as to the accuracy of the dates! I even bought a luxury pack of felt tip pens with which to label the pictures. I just can’t help myself where stationery is concerned!💃
The next task is to somehow find on my old computer previous pictures from probably the last six years or so. Print them off and add to the collection. We did laugh about the last woman standing ( read living ) inheriting the album of memories but at least those memories are nearly organised!

When my first Grandchild was born I realised that she would be a modern girl and grow up in an internet society so to maintain a contact and to balance life out a little I started sending her postcards via Royal Mail. I now have three grandchildren and every time I go away, whether for a long time or a day out I send each of them a postcard. I always send a local view, date them and say a little of who I am with and what I am doing..I bought nice boxes and encouraged them to keep them. I hope that in the future when they are as vintage as me these cards will provided something of a social history of me. Hopefully they may remember me as well!
