I suspected that there might be a problem when I threw out
all most of my clothes! Now I’ve nothing to wear! Surprise! I reckon it’s a reaction to loosing Mum, well I have to blame someone. I needed to cheer myself up so I’ve booked a party for my birthday in a few weeks. I just wanted a happy party! Now I haven’t anything to wear so I’ve temporarily cheered myself up with a new hair cut, manicure and new lipstick. Oh and I’ve booked a holiday next week with a friend. I’ve still nothing to wear so next week may or indeed will, include a large dose of retail therapy. Sounds like good therapy to me!
I forgot to mention that I have also joined a gym, I love swimming. I’ve bought a new Fit bit and I’m going to the Arctic Circle in January. How mad is that? Life is an adventure.
Remember “Adventure before Dementure”
This is one of my favourite photographs. It is of my Mum, my Sister and myself. It was the first time that any of us had been to a High St nail bar. We were on holiday with Mum in Blackpool. For me the photograph epitomises the love between a Mother and her Daughters. Mum is poorly in hospital at the moment and Christmas is looking a bit grim. When I next visit I am going to do a manicure for Mum. A girl can always do with some pampering even an 89 year old girl!
Hi it’s Lush Granny again!
Today I must tell you about a great Lush product that I have used a lot. (As you can see from the picture) The product is Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.
Perfect for softening our hardest bits: knees, elbows, heels, brittle nails and cuticles finally get the attention they deserve. Lemony Flutter revives a traditional method of cream-making that even the Romans would recognise. A little goes a long way, and within just a few applications, those neglected areas will be rejuvenated and smelling delicious, just like lemon curd.
The above blurb is from the Lush Cometics web site but describes it perfectly. I like the bit about “The Romans” It is quite a thick cream but soon soaks in to the cuticles etc. I bought mine from Lush Chester and use it all the time.
Give it a go for gorgeousness!
For a few days my sister and I have taken our Mum for a short holiday to Blackpool. Mum loves to shop till we drop! We are staying on a lovely hotel with good food and bad weather! The weather is awful but we can seek sanctuary from the storms in shops and coffee houses. Today we have had a pampering day. We all had our nails manicured and had a Shellac varnish. This was a first for all of us as we were all nail bar virgins! I adore this photograph as for me it symbolises the love and connection between Mother and Daughters.
I have spent some time perfecting the art of knitting these hexigan puffs. They are knit using sock yarn which is a three ply quality. Once you know how, they are simple to make and I am now taking forty minutes to complete each one. They will eventually be made into a cosy quilt. The pattern is from Tiny Owl Knits on Ravelry and is known as “The Beekeepers Quilt”
