Storm Hannah and Prosecco

Standard

Storm Hannah hit the coast here in Cardigan bay rocking the caravan and sending us to sleep ( eventually). We enjoyed a lazy day with an amble along Llanbedrog beach, hunting sea glass, drift wood and the usual detritus following a storm. We settled in with a chick flick and Prosecco.

Tonight we are out to dinner in a lovely coastal restaurant. Nothing better than a girls weekend despite Storm Hannah and Prosecco!

Good year!

Standard

This was the week that I closed up my caravan for the winter. I could have stayed until January start but Criccieth closes almost completely at the end of October. It always seems like the town that time forgot but that is what I like about it. A sleepy old fashioned town on the coast at the top of the Llyn Peninsula. What more could you ask for?

Reasons to be grateful: beautiful coast, historical backdrop, beach combing, stormy promenade walking, Snowdonia views and happy times.

Roll on the Spring to return to my little piece of heaven. Not to wish my life away but by then we will have had Christmas, I will have been to India and maybe be a little older ( and hopefully not any fatter!!)

Here Be Dragons 2018

Standard

IMG_1491Late last year I bought a place by the sea. I’ve always wanted to be on the coast so job done! It is a caravan located to the left of this picture with views over the beautiful Cardigan Bay and towards the historic Criccieth Castle. I can’t wait to spend time there this spring

“Here be dragons” means dangerous or unexplored territories, in imitation of a medieval practice of putting illustrations of dragons, sea monsters and other mythological creatures on uncharted areas of maps.

There will be a great deal of exploring to do and much coastal walking. I will take lots of pictures and share them with you. In the mean time here is a friendly Welsh dragon to get you in the mood.
