A year or so ago I stumbled over a cottage with a yellow door. I wanted to buy that cottage and it was for sale and it had a yellow door. The fact that I didn’t have the money, didn’t want to move and Hubs knew nothing about it was irrelevant. The cottage had a yellow door and I wanted it!
I explored beyond the yellow door and had myself moved in and decorated each of the tiny rooms. I would have a dresser with yellow China cups and a cream couch with yellow accents throw. I spent hours fantasising how I would visit this cottage ever weekend and never ever change the colour of the yellow door.
To this day I don’t know why this tiny cottage, up a lane in Snowdonia, with a yellow door was so attractive to me. It was definitely something to do with the yellow door. So guys if you are selling your home paint the front door yellow!

I have to admit the yellow door in the pictures you provided do make the houses very inviting. It helps that the yellow is the cheery lemon or daffodil yellow rather than the not so cheery mustard type yellow that seems more popular on houses I’ve seen. The cheery little doors just make you want to explore. 🙂
